It has been going on for decades, the lengths politicians will go to get elected are endless. Once in office, the lies, cheating and bribing for votes and money never ends. The recent Charley Rangel, and Maxine Waters ethics violations are just a symptom of a much larger problem.
Washington has become a dishonest corrupt institution of pay-offs, promises and bending of the rules. Even the President of The United States, Barack Obama has said he will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
We witnessed this outrageous show of power during the healthcare debates. States like Louisiana and Nebraska were offered money, or deals if they would vote yes on Barack Obama’s healthcare bill. The outrage that followed was ignored and Senators like Mary Landrieu, D-Louisiana, denied ever being offered a deal, then later admitted her state would receive $300M if she voted yes.
Former Governor of Chicago, Rob Blagojevich is currently awaiting the outcome of his bribery and wiretapping trial, where he stands accused of trying to sell Barack Obama’s vacant senate seat to the highest bidder. Blagojevich said he was offered money or favors, by the White House, if he gave the seat to Valerie Jerrod, one of Barack Obama’s closest advisors.
The list of corrupt actions by those we have put in charge of our country goes on and on. Politicians have taken advantage of the trust we empowered them with and have used their power in government to promote personal agendas, not the will of the people.
Your vote in November is a chance to show Washington, Americans will not standby and watch our public officials destroy the morals and values of this great country. America stands for truth, honesty and freedom, government must represent all Americans, not just a chosen few.
