Reagan “Obama Tear Down this Wall”

January 29, 2010

With all due respect to the great President Ronald Reagan, I use this quote to make a point. Not that Mr. Obama is a Communist but because he is leading our country in the wrong direction.

President Obama has put up a wall to deflect any opposition to his plan to socialized our government. His State Of The Union Speech revealed much of that plan. He continues to pursue control over our banking system, exposed plans to keep the healthcare debate alive even though 61% of Americans do not want his government run healthcare system and introduced the “Jobs Bill” which is no more then renaming the 2nd Stimulus he wants Congress to pass.

The President’s erogance is very disturbing and his distortion of the truth is even more cause for concern. We were lead to beleive Mr. Obama would focus on jobs going forward but his speech Wednesday night included more of the same versus job creation.

Mr. Obama asked Republicans to work with Democrats while scolding them for the same thing he has been doing and that is locking Republicans out of every serious discussion on healthcare, Cap & Trade and key budget negotiations. All the while holding meetings behind closed doors, giving special treatment to unions and all but turning his back on promises he made such as transparency. Turning his back on Americans.

Obama promised the world on Wednesday night and on Thursday continued Washington politics as usual announcing his massive spending plan to build a nationwide high speed rail system costing billions of taxpayer dollars. Are we not in a recession? What in the hell is wrong with this guy! Does Tampa need high speed rail? How about a middle class tax cut.

I am sure this rail program is going to employ millions of unskilled workers (Shovel Ready Jobs). The fact is rail systems require experience engineers and tradesman not to mention we are going to have to buy the trains for the system that will cost billions more. What a waste.

I am sure Obama believes in his thick head that he has won over the American people with his charming words and promises of prosperity for everyone. I have news for Mr. Obama we are not swayed by words it is actions the American people look for. Our intent as a nation is to continue the revolution started last year by the Tea Party Movement as this madness must end.

If government won’t listen to the people then we need to remove those not listening from government.

Government Healthcare Debate Heats Up

November 20, 2009

senate debateThe healthcare debate heats up as Senate Democrats scurry to try and get the 60 votes needed to move the health care bill to the Senate floor. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he’s confident of securing the 60 votes needed by Saturday.

Republican leaders have voiced their disapproval of the bill in it’s current language and the $850B price tag to be paid by the American people. This comes as polls show 85% of Americans like their healthcare coverage and worry passing of this bill will cause them to lose their healthcare insurance. Seniors have voiced concerns about the possible $500B cuts in the Medicare Program to help fund healthcare reform.

The CBO has estimated the package cost at $850B but Senate Republicans have stated the actual cost is over $2.5 Trillion over 10 years and the coverage for Americans will not begin until late 2013. Along with their estimate, the CBO states the public option included in the bill will cause insurance premiums to increase for every American versus the cost of private health insurance coverage. Polls show 56% of Americans do not support a government run healthcare program.

Over the summer Democrats visited their home districts and received and ear full from Tea Party Protestors voicing opposition to the healthcare bill and the excessive government spending by the Senate and President Obama. The question is are Republicans and Democrats listening. This question has yet to be answered. One thing is for sure, the cost of heathcare in the United States must be addressed. Insurance premiums and the cost of prescription drugs are on the rise. Is government control the answer? You decide.
