Healthcare Democrats Battle To The End

March 12, 2010

A year later, democrats continue to butt heads over healthcare. The reason, you the people. Pro abortion rights advocates want abortions covered, and conservatives don’t. The cost is just too high for some, while others want to see a final bill before making a decision.

Democrats in the House are being pressured from the White House to close the deal. Promises are being made, arms are being twisted and backroom deals are being hammered out. You the taxpayer will pay for it all.

The rush is on and democrats know they will have to face the hometown crowd during their Easter Break. Are you ready? Tea Party organizers are preparing to fill town hall meetings across the country.

See the problem is, Washington politicians have a lot to fear. The people are fed up with this whole healthcare nightmare and want this matter put aside to focus on jobs.

This has caused discord throughout the democratic party. Do they listen to the President or the people. In the end, there will be a vote on healthcare. Pass or fail, many democrats will lose there seats in the upcoming November elections.

Political bickering must be set aside. Democrats are voting on the most important piece of legislation we will probably see in our lifetime. The outcome will effect the entire country for years to come. The majority of Americans do not want government healthcare. Keeping this in mind, place your vote and take your chances.

Obama 1920s Capone Era Politics

March 9, 2010

Al Capone is America’s best known gangster, a symbol of the collapse of law and order in the 1920’s. Capone  had a leading role in the illegal activities that lent Chicago its reputation as a lawless city.

Barack Obama has brought this same Chicago land style of doing business to Washington. Over the past thirteen months, he has lied, cheated, intimidated and bribed to push his agenda on the American people. This man will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Those who dare to stand in his way have been smeared in the media, and trampled upon like old rugs. Long standing democrats who disagree with the policies of this administration, have been asked to step aside, throwing years of service away in a blink of an eye. All “for the good of the democratic party” Obama said.

This President has recently pressured house democrats and congress to stand firm on healthcare reform, even if it costs them their careers in the upcoming November elections.

These are the actions of a desperate man, attempting to force a nation into accepting his policies. While doing so, he has alienated 68% of Americans and a large percentage of his own party, who just don’t believe government control of healthcare is needed.

As a nation, we need to stand up for what is right. This is not how our Founding Fathers envisioned America’s future. Gangland politics has no place in our government. Politicians are expected to be honest and represent the people. Backroom deals and pay-offs for votes are things corrupt countries do, not the United States Of America.

Second Stimulus Parading As A “Jobs Bill”

February 6, 2010

Senate Democrats have introduced what they are calling a “Jobs Bill” in hopes of rallying the support of voters before the November elections.

A closer look at this bill reveals content similar to the first stimulus bill passed last year. As you probably remember, the last stimulus didn’t go over very well. I guess a name change was in order.

Democrats have been pushing for an additional stimulus for more then nine months even though the first one has had little or now impact on the economy. The expected price tag of this bill is between 150-300 billion dollars.

The bill includes tax breaks for businesses hiring unemployed workers, extension of unemployment benefits, renewal of the COBRA program and other popular tax breaks totaling $33B.

President Obama would also like funds included for infrustructure and highway projects, just as the first stimulus. You can expect other pet projects and more pork barrell spending to find it’s way into this bill as negotiations continue on Monday.

One of the main problems with this bill, employers need immediate funds if they are expected to hire additional employees. A tax break is always welcome but doesn’t do much good if the benefit comes at the end of the year.

A better solution would be low interest federal loans. Banks are not loaning money, especially to small businesses. Will this bill have the intended effect Democrats hope for? Time will tell.
