Better Business Bureau Scam

Face Book Promotion and Giveaway Scams
The email claims, you as the account holder have won a large sum of money in the Face Book 2010 Promotion, “Please Contact The Payment Department”. This is a scam to obtain personal information and money. Once you reply to the email, you will be directed to pay various fees before you can receive your prize. Also requested is your personal information.
This scam is very common and ran by Internet criminals, Face Book does not have a 2010 prize promotion.
Another Face Book Scam includes Apple iPhone and IPad giveaways. This email asks you to click on the links within the email for more information. When you click on the links, you are forwarded to websites that contain viruses, malware and other scripts that can harm your computer or install “Trojans” that can detect your personal information stored on your computer.
To avoid becoming a victim of email scams, know who the email is from before opening. If an email requests personal information, delete the email and call the company to verify. Keep in mind, banks and social networking sites never ask for your personal information by email. If you receive any email requesting for personal information of any kind, delete them.
