Recently a couple of celebrities (Tiger Woods And Jesse James), hit the news scene in a bad way. Both cheated on their wives with some pretty questionable partner choices.
Tiger Woods secretly hooked up with about 12 women, one of which was a porn star. Jesse James on the other hand picked the tattooed lady as his fling of the year. Both of these cave dwellers are married to beautiful women, but decided to forego the vows of marriage for short lived thrills with starstruck females.
Now the two are claiming an addiction to adult pleasures. Mr. Woods attended a private treatment center for his pains and Jesse James is undergoing crisis therapy for his own personal problems.
Is cheating really and addiction? If this is the case, we have thousands of untreated addicts in the divorce courts with a legitimate defense.
Sex addiction is a real problem for many people and shouldn’t be used as a crutch to prop up a troubled marriage. As with any addict, they must have their drug no matter what the cost. I don’t think Tiger or Jesse fit into this category. It is a shame that these two are using sex addiction as an excuse for what they have done. They need to Man-Up and face the reality that they put their own desire for instant gratification ahead of loyalty and love for their wives.
Marriage is a contract between two people. You either work at it and take your vows seriously or have the decency to end it if you are thinking of having an affair. As for the treatment, there is no treatment for lack of moral judgment.
