Obama Administration Seeks Scapegoat In Bombing Attempt

December 31, 2009

The attempted bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight 253, over Detroit on Christmas day has sparked huge debate as to who exactly is to blame for the breach in our National Security.

The Obama Administration has left no stone unturned to make sure the focus of this investigation is not directed towards them. The latest misdirect is towards two Bloggers who work for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Subpoenas were issued to Steve Frischling and Chris Elliott demanding they name the source of a released December 25, 2009 private TSA memo outlining new guidelines for airport screening procedures right after the attempted bombing of Flight 253.

In a interview with the Associated Press, Frischling said “It literally showed up in my box,” speaking of the memo. TSA agents confiscated Frischling’s laptop computer and threatened his employment with KLM.

This is just the latest saga in a string of attempts by the White House to misguide the public. Let us not forget the Obama Administration in the past year has failed to fill the position for the head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in charge of airport security throughout the country. It seems healthcare is a more pressing issue for the President then the safety of Americans.

Earlier this week Home Land Security head Janet Napolitano stated that “Screening procedures worked” in regards to the security screening of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab the suspected terrorist accused of trying to bring down the Northwest Airlines flight. It is this type of ignorance from those in charge of our National Security Agencies that lead us to believe that the White House lacks the experience to keep us safe. Napolitano later recanted her claim after she received condemnation from news agencies and Senate Republicans.

The White House also made attempts Tuesday to place the blame on the former Bush Administration stating the lack of updates to the “No Fly List” and outdated procedures for adding suspected terrorists to this list were to blame, however no proof of this was ever presented.

This Administration would be wise to start accepting responsibility for situations that happen on their own watch. This blame game just reminds us how politics have not changed in the past year under Obama.

Car Care What Women Should Know

December 30, 2009

Maintaining a vehicle be it a car, truck or SUV is something every women should know how to do. Proper care will not only keep you and your family safe out on the road but will also prolong the life of your vehicle.

“There are some simple steps you can take to keep your vehicle in tip top shape”

1) Maintaining the proper air pressure in your tires is a must. Impoper air pressure can cause poor gas mileage, wear the tires out more quickly and in the worst case cause a blow-out in which you may lose control of the vehicle.

Checking the tire pressure on a regular basis takes only a few minutes and will insure that none of the above ever happens. A cheap tire gauge may be purchased at any auto store for a few bucks. The store clerk can instruct you in how to use the gauge. The correct tire pressure is written on a plate just inside the drivers side door on most vehicles or you can call the manufacturer dealer of the vehicle for information on tire pressure for your specific make and model.

Tire tread wear should also be checked. The best way to check tire tread wear is to place a penny in the groove of the tire and if the tread is above Lincoln’s head then it is time to replace your tires. Also rotating your tires regularly will cause them to wear evenly and last longer. Driving on heavily worn tires is a safety hazard for you and others.

2) Every women should know how to replace a flat tire in an emergency. You may not have your cell phone with you to call a tow truck. In this case don’t take a chance by flagging down a stranger. Know where your tire jack and spare tire is in advance. Any mechanic or your local car dealership would be happy to show you how to change a flat tire, it’s not that hard. When checking the tire pressure on your other tires, do not forget to check the tire pressure of the spare tire. Nothing like getting a flat and finding out that your spare has no air in it.

3) Check the fluids in your vehicle regularly. Engine oil is the lifes blood of your vehicle check this on a regular basis once a month minimum. Have your local service station show you how to check the oil or refer to the Owners Manual. Driving your vehicle with no or low oil levels can damage your vehicle’s engine permanently. Same goes for water level in your radiator.

4) Another item to check before each raining seasons is your windshield wiper blades. These can wear out quickly especially if your area of the country receives a lot of rain or snow during the winter. The windshield wiper blades come with easy to follow instructions for replcement. Make sure you purchase the correct wiper blades for your make a model of vehicle.

When checking you fluid levels, inspect your belts and hoses under the hood for signs of wear of leaking. It is better to uncover this problem now then to be out on the road and have a belt or hose fail far from home. Following these tips will insure a safe trip to the grocery store or on the open road to any destination.

Designing the Perfect Rooms Home Staging Guides

A room that is balanced and functional will immediately make you feel comfortable. A room that “flows” well will automatically make one “feel” at ease. A room that is cohesive in it’s design and color flow makes one wish to “live” in it or at the very least, sit and enjoy it for a while.

No one room is “perfect”. No one color scheme “fits all”. No one paint color or wall arrangement is the “ideal”. One must insert their own individuality into a space to truely make it “your own”.

Proper furniture placement is essential to the great beginning of each room. You must consider the flow of traffic in each space. Blocking entrances into a room blocks the “flow” and the room will actually “feel” and appear smaller. You will soon feel uncomfortable in a room that you must travel around obstacles to exit. Placing every piece of furniture against the walls is another mistake many make. Even if your rooms are small consider placing a chair and side table in the center of your room just opposite your sofa. This will actually make your space appear larger.

Balance, scale and function. Without the three a room is not cohesive and you will not want to spend time there.
